On Friday April 15th, Cory Sandhagen and Peter Straub will return to the Paramount Theater in downtown Denver to fight on Paramount MMA’s latest card. The promotion is a relatively new one, headed by Tony Sims of the UFC and Elevation Fight Team.
Main Event: Cory Sandhagen (2-0) VS Dalton Goddard (3-1) 145 lbs
CO-Main Event: Peter Straub (4-0) VS Steele McCall (7-3) 155 lbs
The intensity of the training camp for this fight has Cory and Peter feeling especially prepared. With the addition of TJ Dillashaw and Matt Brown to Elevation Fight Team, and the team’s permanent move to Muscle Pharm for their training, it’s not uncommon for UFC fighters to come to Denver for their training camps. To meet the needs of these top competitors, the Elevation coaches have ramped up the level of training in their regular sessions, and everyone has stepped up their game to keep pace.
As fight night approaches, Peter is looking forward to facing another high-level Jiu Jitsu fighter to test his groundwork abilities. He’s confident in his striking, wrestling, and grappling, and is excited to showcase his skills in the cage. Cory’s opponent is known to be a good striker, with less of a wrestling background, so Cory is expecting to open the fight with his striking skills, without much danger of being put on his back. He’s excited to display his all-around skills in this fight, and to prove that every time he gets in the cage, he’s more comfortable and a better fighter.
