Our Denver Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program runs from true-beginner fundamentals to advanced and competition training. No experience needed to start — most people walk in having never grappled, and experienced grapplers get a room full of training partners to push them.

Easton Denver trains in the Renzo Gracie → Amal Easton → Eliot Marshall lineage — and Eliot, a UFC veteran and co-owner of Easton, teaches no-gi here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Its GM is Carlos Espinosa, an IBJJF Open champion and a black belt under Eliot. It's a full jiu jitsu program from fundamentals through competition, and Denver is home to Easton's only MMA program.

What to Expect on Day One

Your first class is free, and every part of it is built for someone who has never done this before.

What to wear & bring

Wear comfortable athletic clothing — shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard. No gi? No problem: we'll get you a loaner gi for your first class. Just bring a water bottle.

What happens in class

Your first class is a free intro session. A coach walks you through the basics and puts you on the mat with training partners who were once exactly where you are. There's no live sparring on day one.

No experience? You belong here

Almost everyone starts having never grappled. Come as you are — our coaches and members are known for making brand-new students feel welcome from the moment they walk in.

Carlos came to jiu jitsu from junior-high wrestling, chasing the competition he missed after graduation — and stuck. He runs the Denver BJJ program from fundamentals through advanced. "You're only as awesome as you treat people."

A UFC veteran who received his BJJ black belt from Professor Amal Easton, Eliot came on board as a co-owner in 2011 and, together with Amal and president Mike Tousignant, grew Easton Training Center from a singular focus on Jiu Jitsu into a principle-driven, holistic approach rooted in discipline, respect and leadership — from the mats to management.

I have been training BJJ at Easton almost a year and a half now. I came in with zero martial arts experience, and everyone from the front desk staff, to the coaches, and the other students have made me feel incredibly welcomed and excited to come back almost every day. It is extremely hard to find a community like that these days, and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of that. Aside from the great community, the instruction is phenomenal. My skill set has increased incredibly and my body is moving in ways that I didn't think I would see. I don't think any of this would be possible without the emphasis on safety while training that evident in every class. I couldn't recommend Eason Training Center enough for anyone that is interested in BJJ or Muay Thai.
