Our Centennial Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program builds focus, confidence, and self-defense in a structured, supportive room. Classes are split by age and experience so every kid is challenged at the right level — first-timers through competitors.

Nick Reid teaches more of Centennial's kids classes than anyone else on the mats, and he has been training since 2008. What he says he had to learn was how to deal with losing — early on he thought being good meant beating everyone, and it took him years to understand that struggling is what progress actually looks like. He also describes himself as quite introverted, which is worth knowing if the kid you are bringing in is too.

Your First Class

What to Expect on Day One

Your first class is free, and every part of it is built for someone who has never done this before.

What to wear & bring

Bring your child in comfortable clothes — we provide a loaner gi for the first class. A water bottle is all they need.

What happens in class

The first class is free. A coach who knows how to make a nervous first-timer feel at home pairs your child with a friendly partner and walks them through the basics. Parents watch from the side.

No experience? You belong here

No experience is needed to start. Most kids walk in never having grappled, and the room is built to welcome them from day one.
