Now that the New Year celebrations have passed, and the hype has quieted, it’s time to focus. Evaluate where you stand, and where you want to be. Give yourself an honest evaluation of how far you have to go, and how much distance you have already covered. Then, come up with a plan of action, and pursue it.

BJJ Competition Training
If you’re interested in competing this tournament season, the best way to get your game ready is to commit yourself to training daily. ETC Boulder and ETC Denver are both running a Pan Ams training camp with regular drilling, training, and conditioning sessions. This camp is open to all BJJ students with a two-stripe white belt or above, and is not limited to people who are planning to compete in Pan Ams.
The first day of training was Monday 1/26, but it’s not too late to join! The cost for the camp is $100, which covers your team jacket as well as the training and coaching costs. Please sign up with the front desk at ETC Denver or ETC Boulder. Denver and Boulder have different training schedules.
Ninja Night in Boulder
Leave the kids with us for a few hours, and have a night to yourselves! They’ll be busy playing games, eating pizza, and watching a movie with their favorite Jiu Jitsu instructors. $10 for member kids, $20 for non-members. Friends are always welcome! We simply ask that their parents sign a waiver beforehand.
In-House Tournament Feb. 28
ETC Boulder will be hosting an all-academy BJJ tournament on Saturday, February 28th. There will be adult gi and no-gi matches, and for kids there will be gi matches only.

They fought three full rounds, and Terrence won the fight by unanimous decision.
The Paleo Nutrition Challenge is in Full Swing
Nearly 40 members at ETC Boulder are in the midst of their month-long Paleo Challenge with Coach Emily Haury. During the challenge, participants are eating strictly Paleo — plenty of meat and vegetables, no processed carbs, grains, or added sugars. They are keeping food logs, and setting daily hydration and sleep goals. At the end of the challenge, Emily will choose a male and a female winner, so be extra nice to her.
