What’s New at the Denver Academy?
Holiday promos are still going strong! Buy a month of training for a friend for $49! Any member can buy a $49 trial month for any non-member who might want to give Easton Training Center a shot. As an added bonus, any gift card recipient who decides to become a member right away will be eligible for a second month at $99! Regular tuition will begin the 3rd month.
Any new member who signs up between now (12/16) and the end of the month will train until 1/15/2020 for $50. Make sure that your referrals know that the sooner they act, the better a deal that they get!
Be on the lookout for schedule changes during the weeks of Christmas and New Year! The Denver Academy will be closed on Christmas Eve (Tuesday 12/24) and Christmas Day (Wednesday 12/25). We will also be closed on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday 12/31) and New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1/1). All other days, be sure to double-check the schedule online to confirm that your favorite classes are still going on!
Holiday Toy Drive
The Annual Easton Training Center Toy Drive is on! Children’s Hospital is our #1 charity partner (our 20th anniversary bbq raised nearly $14,000 for Children’s). Every year, Easton members open their hearts and pitch in to make the holidays special for a little boy or little girl.
Here’s how you can participate! The Christmas tree right next to the Front Desk is covered in paper ornaments with gift suggestions written on them. Decide what gift works best for you and take that ornament.
Buy the indicated gift and then bring it to the academy unwrapped. This is a security measure for the hospital. If gifts are wrapped, they will have to be opened in order to be deliverable. You can give your gift to the front desk and they will take care of the rest! We will be accepting gifts through Sunday 12/22.

What do you love about teaching Jiu Jitsu? I love watching my students use the concepts and techniques I’ve taught successfully in training or competition. It’s way easier than doing it myself and I still get to take credit for it.
What are your personal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu goals? I think I’m a bit of a contrarian. I’d like to be seen as someone with a novel approach to Jiu Jitsu while still being technically fluent. I encourage my students to stay creative while training.
Kids’ Belt Promotion and Holiday Dinner
Coaches Nick Gamez and Ana Mayordomo, along with some of their faithful assistant kids coaches threw an amazing event on Saturday December 7th to celebrate the Tigers community and all the progress the kids have made!
New belts and big smiles were on display as dozens of Tigers, Little Tigers, parents, grandparents, and friends all joined together to celebrate all of the hard work that the kids and coaches of the Easton Training Center Denver academy have put in over the last several months. Kids and coaches played games, goofed off together and had an all-around amazing time.
A catered dinner of roasted chicken, salads, veggies, and-of course-amazing deserts were all shared enthusiastically as members of the Easton and Tigers communities took some time to enjoy one another’s company and get to know folks “off the mat.”
Coaches Nick and Ana, as well as the entire Tigers Coaching Team deserve a warm thank you from all of the Tiger parents and kids. We all look forward to many more successful events like the one that they put on this month!
