Easton Training Center Centennial July Newsletter

This summer has been busy at Easton and there’s more to come! Check out what we’re recognizing, celebrating, and looking forward to in upcoming weeks.

What’s been going down at Easton Training Center Centennial this summer so far…

The Easton competition squad took a trip to Las Vegas for the IBJJF American Nationals the last weekend of June. Overall, we had over 30 competitors Easton wide. We came home with some medals, a ton of experience, and a great adventure under our belts. We are especially proud of all the competitors who travelled and competed from Easton Training Center Centennial! Check out the recap article here to get the full run down!

Thank you, Professor Peter!

On July 16th, Professor Peter Straub guest taught our Tuesday evening no gi class. We were so thankful to have him and the opportunity to soak up some of his knowledge! Professor Peter is the head black belt of the Easton Littleton location, a school that recently had their 1 year reunion! He always brings his unique game and on-point details to the mat and is truly a great teacher and instructor. Thank you so much for visiting and we can’t wait to have you back again soon!

Who we’re recognizing this month..

Easton Centennial Student Highlight:

Tom O’Keefe

This month we are recognizing Tom O’Keefe as our student highlight!

If you haven’t had the pleasure to train with Tom or see him around the gym, he is an incredible inspiration and an awesome student to have on our team! Tom started training jiu jitsu when he was 81 years young. Now, at 83, he continues to show up, step on the mats, and live that jiu jitsu lifestyle!

To see Tom continually step on the mats at 83 years old is a continual reminder to all of us that it is never too late to walk in the doors and start your jiu jitsu journey.

Even more inspirational is his dedication! Age aside, Tom is an amazingly hard worker. In the past, he has been a long distance runner, a competitive weight lifter, and served our country in the Army. In everything he does, Tom puts in maximum effort and we are proud to have him on our mats and on our team. Thank you, Tom, for reminding us what dedication and heart truly look like!

Easton Centennial Coach Highlight:

Tadd Harding

We are so excited to highlight Coach Tadd this month! Tadd is our kickboxing and muay thai department head.

He has an exceptional energy and the gift to make everyone in the gym feel welcome and a part of the family. We are so lucky to have Coach Tadd on our team! Not only is he a wealth of knowledge, but he has the unique ability to lead, encourage, and push his students to their full potential while keeping a positive energy all at the same time!

We appreciate his ability to keep his classes and students engaged and interested. We love his constant encouraging and inviting attitude toward kickboxing, muay thai, and jiu jitsu students alike, as well as anyone else who happens to be in the gym! Thank you for being you, Coach Tadd!

Make sure to keep your eye out for these upcoming events and updates at Easton Training Center Centennial…
