Hey guys,
After talking to Nate Marquardt about some mental training techniques, we have decided to fly in a friend of mine who I worked with in college on Mental Training. He helped me a lot as a coach and I think he could be very beneficial to our team. His name is Braumon Creighton, 4x All-American, 2x NCAA National Champion, and one of the best wrestlers I have wrested with. He has studied a lot of sports psychology and teaches Mental Toughness (training) seminars.
Some of the things he will discuss are listed below. He is going to give you all the info you need so that when we are done with this you will have everything you need to practice these techniques on your own and understand them.
Understanding what is Mental Toughness
Goal-Setting
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Visualization and Imagery
Positive Self-Talk & Thought-Stopping Techniques
Acting Skills (while competing it is important to be a good actor)
Focused Breathing
