Submit the Stigma
ETC Denver will host a Jiu Jitsu seminar to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which educates and advocates on behalf of people with mental illnesses and their families. Mental illness takes many forms, and affects nearly one in five Americans, but often people are afraid to talk about their struggles because of the pervasive social stigma. Our goal is to bring these issues out into the open so people feel empowered to seek help. A representative from NAMI will be present at the seminar to give a brief talk on the organization’s free support services.
Let’s Submit the Stigma! Offer a friend a supportive ear, share your own story, and join us on Saturday December 3rd 12:00 PM -3:00 PM to learn some great technique with Neil Magny, Foster Bailey, Cody Donovan, and Cat Zingano! There will also be several raffle items from local brands to raise additional funds.
