October Muay Thai Fights

Game of Thrones fans will tell you, “Winter is coming,” but the Easton Fight Team has a different motto entirely: October is coming. Coming off two medal performances at the WKA National Championship, the team has an end-to-end packed schedule going into the month that most people associate with candy, ghosts, and extremely basic coffee choices. Tickets for all fights can be purchased through the fighters! Here’s a rundown of the battles to come:

PEDRO ABDALLA MEYER:

October 1 – Kickboxing Debut, Kickdown MMA – Aurora, CO
Easton coach Meyer prevailed in his recent kickboxing debut against his experienced opponent Trent Livingston. He put his skills on display in Colorado’s longest-standing MMA and Kickboxing promotion, and won by unanimous decision. The action-packed bout earned them recognition as Fight of the Night.

LIZ GERRITY:

October 8 – Title Bout, Blue Corner – Kansas City, MO
For a reprisal of the same match-up that took place just a year prior, Gerrity will return to Harrah’s Casino in Kansas City re-up on her victory over Chantel Coates and to win head coach Tony Cummings’ breakfast money with exceptional blackjack prowess. The 135-pound title is on the line, and Gerrity plans to make a devastating comeback in her first fight back since breaking her hand at WKAs.

WES ARGROW:

October 15 – Title Bout, Sparta Combat League –  Denver, CO
The WKA two-time silver medalist Argrow returns to the homegrown SCL promotion to prove that he is king at 170 pounds. With exceptional boxing and lithe footwork, Argrow will face off against Edgar Gutierrez for the Sparta Combat League 170-pound strap.

SEAN MADDEN and NOUFEL EL KASRI:

October 21 – Undercard Bout, Glory World Series – Denver, CO
Team Captain, Lion Fight Veteran, and holder of multiple WKA world and national tournament medals, Madden will turn the tables on what has been a difficult year of injuries with his first fight back in Colorado in almost three years. Recent WAKO champion el Kasri will make waves on the undercard as well. Two crisp technicians, expect to see rib-smashing kicks, and tricky set-ups from both of these seasoned fighters.
The world’s premiere kickboxing promotion, the Denver Glory event will feature a star studded main card, with Nieky Holzken and Murthel Groenhart fighting for the Glory Welterweight title, and Gabriel Varga taking on Robin Van Roosmalen in the main event.

ASHLEY ACORD:

October 25 – Pan-American Kickboxing Championship, WAKO Team USA – Mexico
The ghostly Acord has medals in almost every national kickboxing tournament, holds a WKA World silver medal, and forces me to redact her face from all of my snapchats. After winning the WAKO national tournament this past July, Acord has been invited to represent Team USA at the Pan-American Championships in Mexico. A force to be reckoned with at walking weight, and a true destroyer at 52 kilograms, Acord likes to chop legs, and relieve opponents of their skulls with a devastating overhand.
