Anyone who has trained with mike knows he’s tough as nails. When he’s not on the mats he’s finishing up his degree in literature or managing Abo’s pizza on the hill. At the pan Americans this year mike tore through the competition loosing a judges decision in the finals taking second place (mike had 6 matches!).
Although Mike has only been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for two years he was an experienced wrestler who adopted the BJJ philosophy very well and learned very quickly. Now mike gets to compete in the Worlds as a purple belt in about six weeks.
We all know that its not going to be easy and mike is going to be up against guys with a lot more time training BJJ than mike but I truly believe he has the ability to win the purple belt division. Win or lose Mike will be going to give it his 100% as he always does.
Keep your eyes out for Mike, James, Keegan, Casey, and more as they prepare for the most prestigious tournament of the year!
See you on the mat!
