January Arvada Newsletter

After an incredible close to finish out 2017, we hit the ground running to kick off the first month of the new year at Easton Training Center – Arvada! We had a host of competitions and events for our students, and we’re looking forward to even more excitement to close out January. Read what our students and coaches got into and see what’s coming up below!

Grappling Industries Tournament

Congrats to all of our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors who went out and represented the Easton name to the fullest at Grappling Industries’ Denver Round Robin tournament. There were podium showings aplenty, including Professor Jeff Ake, who jumped in on short notice, winning the No-Gi advanced division. There are many more chances to compete just around the corner, so ask one of your professors, coaches or the front desk for more info on opportunities to represent the Easton name on the mats!

Teens BJJ Classes Going Strong!

To start the year, we have added a Teens BJJ Class every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00. It’s run by a mix of our senior professors and coaches, along with our teen instructors. Teens BJJ class provides the speed and energy of our adult classes contained within an environment where students can train amongst their peers. If you have a teenage friend or family member who may be interested in training Jiu Jitsu, be sure to check out our Teens class. Ages 12 to 17 are welcome!

Women’s Sunday Competition Class

Easton ladies, exciting news! We are excited to announce the addition of a Women’s Competition class at Easton Training Center – Arvada. This class will be held every Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, immediately following the regular women’s class. This class, run by Coach Roxana Safipour, will be open to 3-stripe white belts and up. The hour will be focused on plenty of high-paced drilling repetitions, live training, and also conditioning to get everyone ready for competitions. Even if you don’t plan to compete, this is a great chance to get in some hard training with other women while also helping your teammates prepare. Fight to Win, NAGA, and IBJJF tournaments are all just around the corner, so be sure to get some high quality training in preparation for all of the impending events. Our first class was great, so let’s continue to keep these classes packed. Please be sure to share with any Easton women across our wonderful academies who might be interested, and we hope to see you on the mats soon!

IBJJF Tournament Registration

Don’t forget, the IBJJF Denver International open is rapidly approaching, taking place from April 21-22 at Regis University. If you are interested in competing as a part of Team Easton BJJ, please be sure to fill out our Google Form. The IBJJF limits the number of competitors we can enter as a team, so if you were planning on signing up, make sure you fill out the form and speak to your instructors before registering with IBJJF. We want to make sure we are all on the same page, and this will help distribute our competitors evenly. Good luck to all Easton competitors!
