November Arvada Newsletter

There was quite the hustle and bustle in the air around ETC-Arvada during the month of November!

Schedule Additions

We’re happy to announce that our already massively popular Saturday 8:00 a.m. ‘Early-Bird’ Randori with Professor Chris Kline has been permanently added to our schedule. For those 2-Stripe White Belt students and higher looking to get their weekend training in early, this is the randori for you!

Fight to Win Competitors

We also had plenty going on among our BJJ students and coaches with both the Fight to Win Pro 55 event taking place on Friday, November 17th with our most lovable Coach Bruce Bugbee and also Esmelin Espinal representing our academy, and numerous competitors representing our school at the Fight to Win Nationals Tournament held the following afternoon.

Coach Bruce, who already holds the promotion’s Brown Belt NOGI Light-Heavyweight Title, dropped down to challenge current Brown Belt NOGI Middle Weight Title holder Hunter Colvin in a hotly anticipated Champion vs. Champion bout. In a fast-paced and spirited match, Bruce succumbed to a finish via heel-hook but looked phenomenal at his new weight, and more athletic than ever. We’re beyond excited to be a part of Bruce’s competitive journey and can’t wait to see what he does in his next bout. In the 195lbs Purple Belt Gi division, Esmelin Espinal looked phenomenal, submitting Daniel Pacherres with an armbar, earning himself a spot on FloGrappling’s Top 5 Submissions From F2WPro 55 highlight reel as well!

The following Saturday at Fight to Win Nationals, every one of our students that competed managed to hit the podium in their respective divisions, and we were so proud of how everyone competing under the ETC-Arvada banner performed! There’s been an added energy on the mats recently, and we’ve got plenty more coming ahead for our Jiu-Jitsu competitors over the next few months, so get in on this most recent wave of success and hard work by training with us!

Looking Forward to December!

We’ve also got plenty on the board rolling into December. Don’t forget, we will be running a modified Holiday schedule towards the end of December, so stay up on our abbreviated schedule at eastonbjj.com/arvada/schedule/. Also on the docket, on December 1st, we have Coach Matt competing in a Muay Thai match for Kickdown at The Stampede in Aurora, as well as three of our students competing in the forthcoming Easton Winter Muay Thai Smoker on Saturday, December 9th. All striking classes at ETC-Arvada will be cancelled that day to encourage all students to come out and support their teammates! We hope all of our students, friends, and family had a phenomenal November and Thanksgiving Holiday, and are looking forward to Holiday season kicking into overdrive in the coming months.
