We had our highly anticipated annual “Christmas Classic” winter Muay Thai smoker last month at ETC Denver, and as always, we had an amazing turnout! We finalized the card with 16 bouts, with fighters from all Easton academies representing. We had a nice mix this time of debut fighters as well as some participants with 3-4 smokers under their belt, so we got to see a wide range of experience levels and techniques at this event.
Overall, I was very impressed with everyone’s level of technique and the amount of heart and determination shown. It is no easy feat to enter the cage and compete in front of a large crowd, so hats off to all who stepped up and faced their fears. The smoker events continue to grow every time, and I couldn’t be happier with that! Thank you to all the competitors who spent their time training hard and preparing for this event.
A recent addition to our events has been that of local fight card announcer, Al Pallone, who volunteered to announce the fights and introduce the fighters. Al is a long-time personality of the Colorado combat sports scene, having announced some of the top fights in the state. He did an amazing job and really brought great energy to the entire event. Thank you, Al!
Once again, thank you to all who participated or helped run the event and make it another successful Easton Muay Thai Smoker. At the end of the day, the goal of these events is to help our students prepare for competition at a larger level and learn to embrace the nerves and fear that accompany fighting and combat sports, while giving them a chance to showcase their training and hard work to friends and family. We now move forward and shift our focus towards the Colorado State Muay Thai Tournament, where our students will get a chance to represent Easton Muay Thai at the next level!
