Brown belt bjj/Purple shirt muay thai
What year did you start training?
How did you get started?
I wrestled all through high school but had done kickboxing in Arizona before we moved back to Colorado my freshman year. Looking for a new gym my sophomore year of high school I found Easton Castle Rock just 5 minutes away from our house. Though the transition from wrestling to jiu jitsu was a little tricky I had some amazing coaches and immediately fell in love with both jiu jitsu and Muay thai!
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve encountered in your training, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenges for me have always been weight cuts for my fights. I overcame this obstacle by working with a nutritionist and working out alot more, constantly running, training hard, and eating healthy made that former challenge nothing more than a slight road bump on my road to become a world champion.
What’s your favorite thing about training or teaching, and why?
My favorite thing about training is the release of all other thoughts and worries, and how nothing seems to matter more than what you are currently doing in that training session, all the outside thoughts just go away and it becomes you and your training partner working at becoming better. My favorite part of teaching is being able to learn something from everyone I teach, it dosnt matter if they are a first day newbie, or a multiple year veteran theres always something new to learn that I can use to help teach other people.
What are your personal goals on and off the mat?
On the mat I plan to become a mma champion in the local circuit to make my way up to the professional/world stage where I will become a world champion, off the mat I am currently working on my real estate license, as well as learning to program websites and video games.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
That I currently own a house with my girlfriend of 7 years, Jade.
