20 Years of Easton Picnic

The 20 years of Easton Anniversary Picnic was a huge success! Many people from all eight of our locations came together for an afternoon. Coach Kevin worked hard to provide BBQ tacos for all of the attendees. There was a bounce house for the kids, a silent auction, corn hole, and other fun activities! As we had fun we remembered that everything we did was going to a good cause. Children from the Children’s Hospital came to show their gratitude for our donations. It was very touching to meet those we were helping. We are so thankful for our community, and we look forward to many more years to come at Easton Training Center.

Members of the Month: The Bowens

You can tell when a child walks through the doors of the academy if they are excited for class or not, and Jack always has a smile on his face eager to put his gi on. He has great discipline and is always a black belt partner. He is consistent, even during hard times, his father, Jeff, always brings him to class at least twice a week. Jack is an incredibly well behaved and dedicated child, and his love for Jiu Jitsu is contagious. Jeff is so involved in our community and we are so lucky to have them here. Due to these reasons, Jeff and Jack Bowen are August’s members of the month! The full article uncovers the bond this father son pair share on and off the mats!

Schedule Changes Starting September

Starting August 9th there will be no more Monday/Wednesday/Friday 10 am kids Jiu Jitsu class due to upcoming school year. Additionally, Friday night Muay Thai comp training has been moved to Saturday at 12:30 pm!

Coming Up…

Fight 2 Win Colorado Open

Show off your Jiu Jitsu skills at the Fight 2 Win tournament on August 17th! Fight 2 Win is “the biggest party in grappling” and certainly lives up to its name. A lot of people from Arvada are competing at the Colorado Open so make sure to come out and support them! If you are competing, weigh ins are the day before the competition and be sure to write your name on the list at the front desk so the coaches and professors know who to look for.

Muay Thai Smoker

Our Muay Thai students have been working very hard to prepare for the Smoker on August 24th. The Smoker is exactly like the Jiu Jitsu In House tournament. Students from our academy will fight students from other Eastons in a friendly environment. This event takes place at the Denver location. There will be drinks and a food truck. It is important that we support our fighters, so please mark your calendars and come to the Smoker.

Professor Indiana Guest Teaching 8/27

On Tuesday August 27th, Professor Indiana Danahue will be guest teaching our fundamentals and intermediate/advanced gi classes! Professor Indy teaches at Easton Littleton and Easton Denver! He has been training since 2006 and started because he thought Jiu Jitsu looked interesting. Additionally, he has competed over 50 times! He is a great Professor and we are so excited to have him at Arvada!

In House Tournament 10/5-6

Registration is up! Showcase your Jiu Jitsu skills at the In House tournament on October 5th and 6th! The kids tournament will take place on the 5th, and the adults will go on the 6th! This is a great first tournament for those who are eager to try out competing! Each Easton Arvada student will be going against students from other Eastons in a friendly, and safe environment. It is also a great opportunity to train with students from other academies. Support our competitors by showing up and cheering them on!
