Curriculum

BJJ

Fundamentals – Back Attacks

  • Dragging Rear Naked ChokeĀ – The most effective way to take an opponent to the ground, keeping both yourself and your opponent safe.
  • Back AttacksĀ – This week we’ll learn how to attack from the most dominant position in BJJ.

Intermediate – Half Guard

  • Sprawling – A must-know for defending shots. The sprawl is your key to staying on top.
  • Half Guard EscapesĀ – We’ll study the best ways to go transition from Half Guard back to Full Guard.

Kickboxing – Boxing

The goal in any combat sport is to hit your opponent without getting hit! This week, we will focus on throwing our initial combinations, then moving our feet In order to stay safe, then follow up with another attack. The two calls to focus on will be our “pivot step” to the left and our “roll” to the right. Stick and move!

Fitness Challenge:Ā 100 Burpees

Muay Thai – Low Kicks

Low kicks are designed to attack the legs of our opponent, which can disrupt their offensive rhythm while inflictingĀ significant damage. A good low kick will allow us to eventually open up other attacks to the body and head. This week we look at the outside low kick and the inside low kick on offense, as well as how to properly defend and counter the low kick on defense!

Kids – Coming Soon…

Thoughts

When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment, he needs help. That’s the message he is sending.
