On Saturday February 6th, The Centennial, Boulder and Castle Rock academies sent four fighters to Southpaw Promotions’ Mile High Muay Thai V event at the Buffalo Rose in Golden, and ended up going 3-0-1 on the day.
Young Saelah Pescevic, who trains under coach Vellore Caballero and Max Madorsky in Centennial made her kickboxing debut in a blink-of-an-eye outing, notching the TKO win in just 11 seconds via knees.
Dakota Brown of Castle Rock was up next. Dakota maintained a cool composure to weather an early first round siege from his opponent to go on and win the fight via third round TKO in his official amateur debut.
Genesis Wynn, a long time student of the Denver and Littleton academies made his return to the ring after a long layoff from an injury that occurred in his last bout. After catching a right hand near the end of the first round that resulted in an eight count, Genesis maintained composure and went on to lock down the second and third round for the judges to render the fight a draw– an excellent showing after being on the bench for over six months.
One of the closing bouts of the evening was Boulder’s own Chris Davidoff making his debut after competing in the last two Easton in-house smokers. Chris did an excellent job listening to coaches Tony Cummings and Sean Madden in between rounds and was able to take home a decision win via strong kicks to the body and active work inside the clinch.
All Easton academies will have a number of aspiring fighters competing at the Colorado State Muay Thai tournament on April 17th so be sure to be on the lookout for more fight announcements and results soon!
