Eddie Maestas

BJJ, BJJ Coach, Denver, Purple Belt

Coach Eddie Maestas has been with Easton Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, since May of 2008. Like so many other practitioners, Eddie was exposed to BJJ in the early years of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Unfortunately, at the time, there was nowhere for him to learn the discipline in his sleepy hometown of Longmont, Colorado. After five years of training Pai Lum Kung Fu, a friend of a friend told him about the Easton BJJ academy in Boulder. Immediately, Eddie was on the phone, setting up his first intro class.

After a few years of training and local competition, Eddie received his purple belt in October of 2012. At this point, he moved much of his focus from competition to teaching. You can always find him around the Denver academy teaching high-paced fundamental and intermediate classes.

In addition to BJJ competition, Eddie has also competed in local Muay Thai fights, placing 2nd in the 2014 state tournament.

Off the mat, Eddie plays guitar in the Denver based band, Native Daughters.
