Kids World Championship – Team Trip 2018

The Kids World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships will be held on Saturday July 21 in Long Beach, CA. Easton is sending a team of kids from all academies, led by Professor Vellore Caballero of Easton Training Center Centennial. Please note that there was an error in a previous announcement email, and this is not an IBJJF tournament. The one-day event will take place at Long Beach College, and is open to kids of all belt levels, ages 5 to 17. All matches in this competition will be in the gi.

A few years ago, Easton BJJ sent a group of just 12 kids out to the World Championships and took 4th place. This year we hope to build a bigger team, and to be competitive for the podium!
Team travel is a great way for the kids to bond with their BJJ peers, and get a taste of the national competition scene. Professor Vellore has led his Centennial students on several kids’ Jiu Jitsu trips in recent years, and is excited to get a big group together from all the academies. They plan to stay together group, and enjoy some fun local activities in the days following the tournament. If your child is excited about competing in BJJ, this is a trip will be an awesome experience, and one they won’t want to miss!
