There are a select few people to whom we can attribute the growth and development of modern Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the United States. Here at the Easton Academies, we are lucky enough to call one of these individuals our own. Since receiving his black belt from Renzo Gracie, Amal Easton has worked tirelessly to spread the BJJ and martial arts gospel.
The BJJ competition season is currently in full swing. Pan Ams are coming up in the middle of March, and Worlds will take place at the beginning of June.  As BJJ competitors all over the world gear up for battle, take a second to remember the history of the amazing competitions that push our sport ever forward.  Check out this Gracie Mag article featuring Professor Amal Easton reminiscing about the good ol’ days of Pan Ams.
