Shane is the new UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion!

Shane Carwin Wins!!!

This past Saturday at UFC 111 in New Jersey, Shane Carwin entered the Octagon to take on the favorite and former UFC Heavyweight Champ, Frank Mir. Carwin controlled the fight from the start, pressing Mir against the cage, eventually gaining the position to start throwing some big, effective strikes. Mir succombed, hitting the mat, where Shane held him down and finished with big shots to the head, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Congratulations to the UFC Interim heavyweight Champion, Shane Carwin!

This sets up a unification bout with champ, Brock Lesnar, who is returning from some serious health issues, but is now back in top form. This will be a great fight between two big guys and may be one of the biggest draws in UFC history.
